ABOUT RECEP KURT
Your translator.
Personally invested.
I’m a native Turkish linguist with more than 20 years of experience—and a simple aim: help your readers understand you without having to work at it.

Language is my craft.
Context is my starting point.
I studied Russian Language and Literature at Ankara University, graduating top of my class. Graduate studies in Russian history at the University of Wisconsin–Madison deepened my relationship with the language and its cultural context.
Seven years in the United States gave me daily experience of English beyond the classroom. My work has taken me through book publishing, technical support at Siemens Business Services for Toshiba notebook owners in the USA, radio at NTV and in-house translation before I became a freelancer in 2012.
That range matters when I open your file. A product interface needs economy. A technical explanation needs precision. A travel story needs a sense of place. I enjoy finding the Turkish that fits each one.
WHAT IT MEANS FOR YOUR PROJECT
Someone who asks why
Who is reading? What should they understand or do? Those questions make the translation more useful.
Someone who gets the files
Experience with Trados, memoQ, Smartcat and other workflows helps me work within your existing process.
Someone you can talk to
You speak directly with your translator about terminology, feedback and the decisions behind the final text.
Behind the words.
My route into translation included electronics training, broadcasting and books. I’m interested in how things work—and how to explain them so other people can see it too.
That is the part of the job I keep coming back to: finding the sentence that makes a complicated idea feel clear, or a foreign voice feel familiar.
